Community Health Officer
RECRUITING DEPARTMENT: Health Department.
REPORTS TO: Project Manager
DUTY STATION: KASULU (KIGOMA)
QUALIFICATIONS: BACHELOR DEGREE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OR ,SOCIO WORK .
EXPERIENCE: at least 5 years working in community development projects, at least 2 years Red Cross experience
LANGUAGES: Swahili and English
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the implementation and supervision of all planned community activitiesResponsible for conducting community meetings with relevant stakeholders for the identification of community health interventionsResponsible for liaising with government officials for the planning and implementation of all community activitiesResponsible for supervision and monitoring the selected community health volunteers on selected health topics (i.e. malaria, hygiene and sanitation, maternal health) and on Behaviour Change interventionsCompile and collect data field for evaluation indicators of verifiable objectivesAn overseer of day to day activities of community health volunteersAdvice the project manager on improvement of community health interventionsPrepare activity and progress reports at the end of week, month and yearSupervise and provide technical support to the Community Health VolunteersAct as Project Manager in his/her absenceIdentification of community health activities to be implemented in an eventual project proposal.Ability to use computer software package (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)Perform any other duties assigned by his/her supervisors from time to time.Work closely with the Spanish Red Cross Delegate in the area, provide support for the good running of the operation.Applications may be submitted via Post Office or by hand delivery, but not by email.
